Sleepover

I love kids. I don't have any of my own, but I have 5 adorable nephews and 1 beautiful niece. I wish I could see all of them every day, but I am blessed to have 2 nephews (Titus and Silas) that live close by!

Last week we had a sleepover, to give mom and dad a night off :)

First thing when we walk into the house:

Titus: "So, where do we sleep? Where do you and Uncle Josh sleep?"
Me: "Well, Uncle Josh and I sleep in that room but this room over here is for you; it has a big bed just like yours at home."
Titus: "Oh ok, do you want to help me get my bed set up?"

He was so polite and it was the cutest thing ever :)

We had a blast and, of course, took pictures.

I told them to say cheese and this is what I got:

They like to make faces.....and little brother likes to copy big brother.

We also played hide and seek (our closet is always the hiding place)

Sometimes I spoil them..

But how could I not? 

They are just too cute.

A couple days after they stayed at our house my sis in law sent me a text...

Titus - "Mommy smell my blanket, it smells like Aunt Hannah's house. It smells good"

I seriously love this kid.

And of course this one too :)

So awesome to have so many little kiddos to love on! Connor, Nolan, Liam, and Olivia, I miss you!

God is good. :)

New Headboard

So, my husband and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary on June 20th, 2012. We had been talking for a little while about wanting to make a headboard and I decided that this would be the perfect time! So I suggested that we make a headboard as an anniversary gift to me each other. Although I did help with some of it, I got the better end of the deal. While my husband was doing this:

Let's just say I am very thankful for my husband and the hard work that he put into making this headboard. It turned out great and I absolutely love it!

And the lights. My husband teases me because I have [Christmas] lights up in almost every room of our house....all year round. I am obsessed. I can't help it though. I just love the way they look!

So here is my new headboard that we finished two days ago. 

It's perfect. :)

Why I started a blog

I'm finally doing it; starting a blog. I've been planning to start a blog for a few months but just haven't found the time. Today I figure I have no excuse. It's a Saturday afternoon and I have nothing planned for today. (When does that ever happen?)

Anyway, I have 2 reasons for starting this blog. The first is inspiration I have gotten from reading my friends blogs :). The second (and main) reason is because I love to take pictures and so I take pictures, everywhere we go, of anything that I truly believe I will want to remember. I have to admit that I even (sometimes) ruin special moments to take pictures or have some one else take a picture for me. I tell myself one day that I will use the pictures in scrapbooks, frame them on my wall...etc,  but for now they are just fine under the picture file on my computer, on my camera....or on facebook. Now, I know I can post pictures on facebook whenever I want, but unfortunately facebook does not really give me a lot of space to tell stories behind them. That's where this blog comes in. Just so you know, I am NOT a photographer and I don't own a really nice camera or take really good pictures (I have other people for that), but I hope you enjoy the pictures just the same. I'm sure you will see photography skills in some of the pictures (as I will not be taking every picture I post) and I will give credit where credit is due!

One more thing - Even though I've stated my purpose for this blog, that doesn't mean there will be pictures in every post....there may be times I just want to talk, or have something to share. Just thought I would clarify that. Enjoy :)
